Health Camps
St Antony Education and Medical Foundation conducts blood donation camps in semi-developed rural areas where they have a primary health care centre, but don’t have super specialty hospitals.
Health Camp is one of the most important feature of the scheme. Health camps are done with an objective of bringing awareness among the rural masses about the diseases they are suffering from and providing free medical advice and medicines. It helps in early detection and prevention of diseases.
It is observed that at such camps, patients who need proper reading glasses are supplied with the same totally free of cost. Patients are also sponsored with free of charge medicines at various medical camps conducted.

Free medicines were also distributed among locals. The specialist doctors did the dental checkup for tobacco cessation, etc. The Physician was there to do the general checkup. There was also breast cancer test done for the females of the village. Body check-ups, oral cancer detection, dental checkups and tobacco quitting treatments were reported in the medical camp.
Objective of Health camps is to screen the patients,give health related awareness, distribute medicines to treat common diseases and refer, as the case may be for surgery/treatment. revention of diseases.
The locals were also educated about the healthy habits and good practices to be followed in order to remain fit and healthy. Locals were extremely grateful to the unit for this earnest endeavor and requested for more such camps in near future for benefit of the local populace.
